Inserting 3D models into WPS Presentation slides can significantly enhance the visual appeal and interactivity of your presentations, especially when detailing sophisticated mechanisms, prototypes, or layouts. WPS Presentation offers built-in 3D object support, enabling users to manipulate them in real time on the slide canvas.

Start by updating your WPS Office software, as this feature is absent in outdated versions. Open your presentation and navigate to the slide where you want to insert the 3D model. Go to the Insert tab on the ribbon at the top of the window. Find the 3D Models button within the Illustrations section. Click on it to open a dropdown menu that offers two choices: Cloud-sourced 3D assets and Your Computer.

If you want to use a model from an online source, select Online 3D Models. You’ll see a search bar where you can input keywords like automobile, edifice, or body system. Browse through the results, preview the model, and click Insert to add it to your slide.

Alternatively, if you have a 3D model file saved on your computer, such as in OBJ format, choose This Device. The system opens a file picker for you to browse and choose your asset.

After inserting the model, it will appear on your slide with a set of handles around it. You can resize the model by dragging the corner handles or reposition it by clicking and dragging the object itself.

To manipulate how the model is viewed, click on it to activate the 3D Model tab in the ribbon. This panel offers controls to tilt, turn, and pivot the model. Adjust the light source direction and intensity. Alter the reflectivity, roughness, or color shading. Include custom animations for spinning, floating, or cycling movements.

Configure it to animate upon slide transition. Or trigger its animation with a click.

For best visual results, consider adjusting the slide background to a solid color or subtle gradient. That does not compete with the model’s details.

Also, avoid overly detailed or high-polygon assets, as this may slow down playback on less powerful devices.

Make sure to run a full rehearsal on your presentation machine to confirm that the 3D model loads and behaves as expected.
